No word on Chuck E. Cheese’s
Pokkén Tournament will be available for testing at the arcade/restaurant chain Dave and Buster’s, according to executive Kevin Bachus. This news is somewhat unsurprising, considering that specific Dave and Buster’s locations will also have Tekken 7 available for testing in the near future.
“Candidly both NAMCO and I are more optimistic about that title and our typical guests than Tekken,” Bachus said in a reddit AMA late last night. It’s a valid theory — Pokémon remains a hot nostalgia property, especially for the gaggle of young adults that form Dave and Buster’s target demographic.
Bachus is the senior vice president of Entertainment and Game Strategy at Dave and Buster’s, but he was also involved with the creation of the original Xbox. According to his original AMA post, Bachus “built the publisher relations group [at Microsoft]” before spending the next nine years jumping from company to company. There’s some really compelling inside baseball in that AMA. If you’re at all curious about how Dave and Buster’s operates, it’s definitely worth a look.
