The console wars are raging, and they’re raging hard. As with any struggle for supremacy, there are key battles and then there are the less meaningful fights. I think we can all agree that the likes of “best exclusives” and “biggest install base” take a backseat to the most important clash: hand-to-gland combat.
Last week, Pornhub broke down the ways in which Xbox One grew and blew up in 2014, taking the coveted award for console most used to watch adult entertainment. That’s not the final word, though, as other sites are reporting the exact opposite.
SugarDVD, the self-proclaimed “Netflix of porn,” says that Sony’s console is definitely still large and in charge. According to its metrics, PS4 users watched 2.6 times more porn than Xbox One owners. Maybe more interesting than that, peak hours for watching on PS4 was between 6-7pm — right around dinner time.
Of course, none of this is definitive at all, given that these are just numbers from individual outlets, of which there are many. And, it’s important to note that SugarDVD is a paid service while Pornhub is free. If anything, it tells us that both sides of the console war are using their systems for more than just gaming.
