Proven Lands explores colorful, procedurally generated planets

Seeking funding on Kickstarter

Exploring space is awesome. It always has been, and it always will be. With the rise of procedural content generation, the potential for utterly massive universes to explore has been unlocked, and a flood of titles are showing up that utilize the idea, like No Man’s Sky or Starbound. Proven Lands is the next boundless space exploration game to keep an eye on, but it needs help with funding before it can become a reality.

The video above details the world generation in Proven Lands, and also touches on the exploration, crafting, and combat aspects. Admittedly, the combat does not look terribly interesting at this early stage of development, but the environments are stunning. The Minecraft-esque soundtrack helps set the tone as well.

Proven Lands is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter with a goal of £299,000, and is also on Steam Greenlight with hopes to release in 2015 for PC, Mac, and Linux.
