Another month, another update!
Sony, feeling that last month’s PS Vita firmware update wasn’t generous enough, has bestowed users another opportunity to watch a progress bar on their handheld system. Firmware update 2.01 is now available for download.
This update fixes problems found in the last one, chiefly enabling players to sync their PS Plus save games with cloud storage.
As excited as I am for this update, I’m a little disappointed that it has a notable and tangible reason for existing. The best firmware updates are those with miscellaneous an unspecified “stability” fixes to vainly deny the use of firmware as a consistently failing anti-piracy measure. I’m a little let down that this and last month’s updates are of actual use to the consumer.
I don’t turn on my PS Vita to be benefited, Sony. Please go back to your classic firmware releases next month.
