Today, the 120GB PS3 Slim pre-orders at Amazon.com has taken the top sales spot for video games, beating out all of the Wii junk that normally owns the charts. They say that the product is in great demand, and that there are already shortages. Amazon is offering the system for the given $299 price and says that they will throw in $5 of MP3 downloads for the hell of it. We find it interesting that they do not list a ship date for this pre-order, though. They usually do.
Gamestop does give a solid ship date, and it’s a bit earlier than the expected September 1st launch date for the system. Pre-order it now, and they say it will ship on August 24th, or in less than a week. They do note that it could take 48 hours for processing, but that still beats the launch date by almost a week. “Limit 2 per household,” they say. Heh.
