Epic’s Mark Rein continues to provide a wealth of information. He said yesterday in Epic’s UT3 forums that the PlayStation 3 version of the game would support mouse and keyboard gameplay.
I checked with Steve Polge and he said that YES we are supporting keyboard and mouse in Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3. He is confident we are doing it in a way that will be balanced without feeling “gimped” for either side. We’ll also allow people to choose whether or not they want to allow mixed controller vs. keyboard/mouse games or not.
It’s a bummer that we need to get the PC version of Unreal Tournament 3 to make mods. With the PS3 version supporting mouse and keyboard, making mods would be fairly easy on the console. Oh well.
When asked about Xbox 360 related information, Mark apologized and said that there was “nothing new” to report on the Xbox 360 front, and then asked Xbox 360 users not to hijack the thread. He also told them not to expect any news on it before the end of this year. Ouch.
