Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is actually here, no fooling. It came out recently, and Nintendo has a few goodies to go along with its release (on top of a reversible cover in some regions outside of the US). One of them is a wallpaper suite, which includes a landscape format (1920×1080) and portrait formats (1080×1920, 1200 x 1920, 1242 x 2688, 1536 x 2048). It’s yours for 50 Platinum Points.
As a reminder, if you want physical rewards, you can find our full Platinum Point guide here, which has been updated with details on weekly missions: bookmark it for when you need quick points for a reward. A handful of points is incredibly easy to get, as that’s basically just 15 minutes with Super Mario Run, or a quick sign-on to the 3DS or Wii U 3Shop. Also remember that any shipments are bundled together, so you can pay a flat rate for multiple items instead of paying it each time. Just know that items go out of stock on My Nintendo frequently, and some are never restocked.
Is Advance Wars back for good?
It’s still weird to see a “new” Advance Wars release after this long, but here we are. People have really been taking to this re-release critically, and I hope it does well enough for Nintendo commercially; even with the year+ delay under its belt.
The formula still works, but it would be fantastic to see Nintendo and WayForward alike work on a follow-up with a completely new story, more units, and even bigger maps. It’s crazy to think how far they could really go with this series with a proper online and campaign support too. The sky is the limit!
