Bethesda’s just announced today that, this fall, Del Rey Books will be publishing a novel based on Rage.
It’s called (get this) Rage, and it’s being penned by the game’s writer, Matt Costello. It follows the basic plot of the game, with lead Lt. Nick Raine emerging from a pod to find that a doom-scenario didn’t wipe out all human life as planned. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few mutant stragglers who wouldn’t like to change that…
The novel is said to uncover more about the game’s world and characters than you’d get on the disc. Whether that means we can expect more “pew pew” than exposition in the game itself remains to be seen. But I’m all for a good read, so let’s hope Rage (The Novel: Based on the Game) delivers the goods.
