Just another victory for the opium-laced Pok?mon-Bejeweled hybrid
Puzzle & Dragons Z shipments have exceeded the 1.5 million mark, GungHo Online announced today.
The Nintendo 3DS iteration of GungHo Online’s trendy role-playing puzzle game launched last December, topping charts in its opening weekend and scored more than 800,000 sales in its first fortnight on the Japanese market.
Prior to the title’s release, GungHo Online boss Kazuki Morishita announced his company endeavored to sell at least one million copies of Puzzle & Dragons Z. Mission accomplished, I’d say.
Of course, the success of the mobile version absolutely dwarfs that of its 3DS companion. As of November 2013, the original Puzzle & Dragons had been downloaded more than 23 million times across North America, Japan, and Korea, making ludicrous amounts of money along the way.
A western release of Puzzle & Dragons Z is confirmed to be in the cards, but no concrete details have emerged regarding the localization or when it might arrive.
