Realistic FPS Receiver is now available on Steam

‘Become literate in how guns actually operate’

Receiver, a first-person shooter with mechanics grounded in reality, is finally available on Steam for super cheap. You can temporarily pick it up for $3.99, 20% off its original price of $4.99. If you already own Receiver through purchase or pre-ordering Overgrowth, then you should have a key waiting for you on the Humble Bundle site.

Wolfire Games is absolutely brimming with talent, and Receiver is a strong example of some of the fantastic gameplay ideas they have. I love that it’s a single idea extrapolated into a complete project that doesn’t feel overbearing. They just had a cool idea, made a game in a week, and released it unto us plebs. Oh, and there’s a super interesting postmortem of the game on their blog, which reveals a lot about Greenlight and how Receiver almost didn’t end up on Steam at all.

I have previously written for AbleGamers.com and continue to support them whenever possible (like HumbleBundle).
