Recently, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime talked fairly candidly about the issues present in Wii title, Disaster: Day of Crisis. Reggie called the voice acting “laughable” and then essentially told the IGN interviewer that he doesn’t believe Disaster is worth a $50 price tag. Currently, the game is only available in Europe and Japan and is missing on NA release lists.
In addition to that, Reggie said he would monitor the game in Europe and if it sells well, he would bring it to North American audiences. Considering Reggie’s fairly candid sentiments, I’m not exactly sure if we want the title to make the jump over the pond.
Reggie’s comments are fairly odd, considering the amazing amount of garbage present for the Wii on store shelves. Instead of knocking a game that has 3D graphics and voice, perhaps he should knock on titles that only consist of mini-games or frantic waggle movements. It would be nice to have the bar raised.
