There goes my Dream cast
I was so excited for the reported “Game of Thrones for a family audience” Legend of Zelda series that Netflix was producing that I went ahead and wrote up my “dream cast” (SEGA joke) for the series. Looks like my ace television production soothsaying will not be happening, however.
Not because my predictions were incorrect in any way, mind. According to Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata, speaking to TIME, “As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information.” Why’d it take a month to clarify?
While Iwata’s statement doesn’t preclude any filmic representations of the series in the future, does kind of squash that particular direction. Still, I wasn’t taking the family-friendly Game of Thrones theme to heart anyways, so I’m pretty confident that my casting could be applicable to any future Zelda film and television properties.
