Apparently, 3.4 billion orc deaths are insufficient for the folks at Robot Entertainment, who have announced the impending sequel to their wave defense game. Orcs Must Die! 2 will add new enemies and traps and features a new campaign which a second player can take the role of the new Sorceress character for some cooperative action. They’re also refining the upgrade system to reward players for replaying previously completed stages with a series of persistent trap upgrades.
If you’re headed to PAX East, Robot Entertainment will be there with a demo of the new game for you to get your clammy meat fronds on.
I bought Orcs Must Die! but I have to admit to not having played much, due to developing a particular fixation on the somewhat similar Dungeon Defenders. The game has a great sense of humor, though, and I’m keen to get back to it. Suppose I ought to do so before Orcs Must Die! 2 releases this summer on PC. No word yet on whether the game will hit consoles, but here’s hoping.
