The way I see it, there are two main crowds here: those who will go all out for Rock Band 3, and those who are in it for the keyboard and new tracks. As revealed in an IGN interview with MTV Games’ Paul DeGooyer, those of us who don’t want Pro guitar in our downloadable songs won’t be required to pay extra.
All DLC released for Rock Band 3 will “come with Pro Mode for keyboard and drums, harmony mode, etc.” … “we’ve decided to sell Pro Mode for guitar separately. Right now, a typical stand-alone song for us is a buck ninety-nine.”
“If you wanted to buy Pro Mode for guitar on top of that dollar ninety-nine, it would cost a buck,” says DeGooyer. “We think it’s a really fair price.” This seems like the ideal way to go, since I imagine most of you wouldn’t be fond of ponying up for something you had no intention of using.
