Rocket League competitive season ending, ranked players will get crowns

Also adding RNG loot

The next update for my #2 game of 2015 Rocket League is due out next month. With it comes the end of the first season of competitive play, and the better players will net some snazzy bling to show off during season two and beyond. Depending on a player’s highest standing in the ranked playlists, Rocket League will be awarding bronze, silver, gold, and platinum crowns to use as toppers. Me? I’m not good at the game, so I don’t even qualify for a bronze yet.

Along with the season 1 rewards, Psyonix is also introducing uncommon loot drops and a system of categorizing garage items by rarity. It doesn’t sound like it will be particularly frustrating as far as random number generation goes; the longer a player goes without getting a drop, the higher the chances the next online match will produce one.

Season 2 will begin with the update, and there are changes planned for competitive play, but Psyonix isn’t saying more than that for another week.
