Talk about toxic relationships

Your skin is poisonous. It rots and/or melts anything you touch. You haven’t seen your pops in two years and live alone in a derelict mansion near London. Then, one day, Royal Guards try to capture you for some reason, and master thief Arsène Lupin comes to the rescue!

That’s the premise of Code: Realize: Guardian of Rebirth, the latest otome game to get announced for western audiences. Yes, Aksys Games is back in the habit with another adventure brimming with hunky dudes for our tragic heroine to fawn over.

This time around the reverse harem is populated by iconic Victorian era literary figures, like the aforementioned Arsène Lupin, Mary Shelley’s mad scientist Victor Frankenstein, scholarly vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, and Jules Verne’s gun enthusiast Impey Barbicane. You can also court actual historical person Count Saint-Germain, who seems a tad out of place, given he passed away a century before most of his peers were even twinkles in their creators’ eyes. Oh well, it’s fiction, my dear Watson.

Apparently it also has that steampunk thing going on, which by now is either a selling point or makes you want to climb into a cannon and fire yourself toward the moon. At any rate, it’s coming to PlayStation Vita here in North America sometime this autumn.
