Romero ‘sorry’ for initial reaction to Zenimax deal

Ranty game developer and former id prodigy John Romero has apologized for yesterday’s Twitter-based outburst upon hearing that Zenimax had bought the Doom developer. Fresh off a podcast interview that’s due out on Friday, Romero admitted he was harsh and has apologized for stating that the Zenimax deal was “disgusting.”

I just did an interview for Avault Podcast coming out friday,” Tweets Romero. “ I am positive about the Zenimax deal. My initial reaction was harsh. Sorry.”

Quite why Romero blew up the way he did, I don’t know, but maybe his upcoming interview will reveal all. Either way, he’s now sorry, so hopefully everybody can be friends again. That is, until Doom 5 gets a VATS System.
