If you’re breathing, chances are you’ve probably already played Resident Evil 4. Whether it was on the PlayStation 2 or the GameCube, it stands as one of the best games of that generation. But what if Capcom released a version for the Nintendo Wii?
According to rumors and speculation, along with three separate retailer’s listings, the hit game is set to receive a Wii treatment sometime very soon.
Yesterday, a listing appeared on GameStop.com for Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, shipping in late June for $29.99). Later that day, Japanese retailer, Sofmap, put up a similar listing — Biohazard 4 Wii Edition, shipping in May.
Now today, GoNintendo is reporting a similar listing in Blockbuster Video’s computers. It should be noted that this is listed separately from the previously announced Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.
The Sofmap and GameStop listings have since vanished, but a quick call to a local GameStop revealed that the game was still available for pre-order. We’ve contacted Capcom to get further clarification, but it’s likely we won’t hear anything more about this game (if it does exist) until April 13th, when Capcom has their Gamer Day event.
(Update: Not surprisingly, Capcom’s response to this was that they haven’t made any annoncements about a new Resident Evil game. Which is entirely true, isn’t it? We shall see…)
