Rumor: Riding with Hawk, mixing records will cost you $120

According to specialty retailer GameStop, bundles for Activision’s upcoming Tony Hawk Ride and DJ Hero will run you a cool $119.99.

Both games require the use of a dedicated peripheral, designed exclusively for the each of the games; without them, you simply couldn’t play the games. Ride‘s skateboard peripheral is a hands-free experience, a board equipped with accelerometers and motion sensors to detects movement. According to a recent Game Informer preview, the DJ Hero turntable controller will feature three buttons on a spinning plate, coupled with some sort of cross-fader to mix songs during gameplay.

Tony Hawk Ride and DJ Hero are scheduled to ship this holiday; GameStop has their release dates for October 13 and October 29 respectively. While neither the price of date have been officially set in stone by Activision, retailers like GameStop often have an inside track on stuff like this in order to plan their year. On the other hand, the retailer also has to to get something in the system in order to start getting those precious pre-order dollars.

We contacted Activision late last week for reply, but are still awaiting a solid response. We think they’re working on new ways to craft the ol’ “we don’t comment on rumors and speculation” line.
