Silent Hill Origins was a surprise for me. After seeing it at multiple conferences, I wasn’t excited despite the huge Silent Hill fan that I am. My biggest concern was that the formula of the series would be used but the writing that has made the games so memorable would be absent. I came into the game with low expectations, so I was plesantly surprised to find myself playing a fairly actualized game that was pretty enjoyable.
I’m telling you all this because if you don’t own a PSP and never got a chance to play it, there’s a possibility that may soon change. Both Gamefly and Amazon have a page up for Silent Hill Origins for PS2, each having a different March release date. Konami has made no formal announcement, and that box would be a snap to Photoshop, so we can’t really make any solid assumptions on the topic just yet.
Personally I’d buy it if it came out for PS2, although that’s not saying much considering I’d likely be the first in line to buy a Pyramid Head condom dispenser (condoms now come in Rusted Blood™ and Religious Zealot Mutilation™ varieties.)
