I’m really missing those old multiplayer Mercs days
Resident Evil 5 is one of my favorite multiplayer action experiences ever. Not only is the main game a blast with a co-op partner: its version of Mercenaries is fully co-op as well. While it does keep the spirt of the original RE4 Mercs, sadly, the Resident Evil 4 remake doesn’t follow in the footsteps of Resident Evil 5/6 (and Revelations’ raid mode), and is just single player.
Resident Evil 4 remake’s Mercenaries Mode only supports solo play
After installing and booting up the Mercs module, there’s no option to select multiplayer play of any kind: either split-screen local or online play. Instead, after hitting “start,” you’ll be whisked away to the character and map selection screen, with four Mercs heroes and three stages available at launch respectively.
Once you’re done experimenting with those four characters and three maps (and you’ve unlocked the handcannon weapon), that’s all, folks.
Is DLC coming to Resident Evil 4 remake’s Mercenaries mode?
I hope so! Not only is Ada conspicuously absent from the mode; we also don’t have alternative costumes for the existing fab four.
Here is everything major missing from the RE4 remake Mercs Mode so far:
- Playable Ada
- Playable Wesker
- The fourth stage (the extended island/factory map with water all around it)
