I had all but forgotten about Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game until this past weekend when I was attempting to find something appropriate for my four year-old sister-in-law to play. Not the selection we went with, but seeing it in my list of games gave me the itch to give the title another run through. Now I have a little more motivation, as the Xbox Live Arcade release of the comic brawler will receive DLC for the first time in nearly two years on August 19.
The “Online Multiplayer+Wallace Pack” will run you 400 Microsoft Points and adds… well, it adds online multiplayer, for starters. Finally, you’ll be able to play cooperatively with people in completely separate rooms over the internet, considered to be one of the most egregious shortcomings of the original release. The DLC also, as its title suggests, adds Wallace Wells (Scott Pilgrim’s responsible roommate and mentor) as a playable character. The pack will be releasing on PSN as well and Ubisoft has stated that more details will be coming soon.
It’s so strange that the game is getting updated after all this time, particularly with a feature it probably should have had in 2010. The world is a funny place.
