Let’s try this again, shall we?
It’s been an interesting journey for the new downloadable content for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. After resurfacing only to be hit with a last-minute delay, the add-on — which includes Wallace Wells as a playable character and oft-request online multiplayer — is back. Hopefully for real this time. We’ll know soon enough, as the DLC is scheduled to release tomorrow on PlayStation Network.
The price is $4.99, and PlayStation Plus members are getting a discount of 20 percent off both this individual DLC pack and the Ultimate Edition of the game with all of the DLC to date. That offer is good for the next two weeks. While I haven’t seen confirmation, presumably the Online Multiplayer + Wallace Pack will be out for Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday. (Update: confirmed by Ubisoft.)
The timing on this has been unfortunate, but oddly enough, playing the recently-released beat-’em-up Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds has put me in the mood for more Scott Pilgrim. If you’ve yet to try them out, know that both games are pretty solid. Just when I think I’m burned out on the genre, it pulls me back in time and time again.
