Screens from canned Dirty Harry game show off wrinkly old Clint Eastwood face

In 2005, Warner Bros. Interactive announced they’d be releasing a game based off of the Dirty Harry films, for the then next-gen systems, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In 2007, the game — in the hands of Silent Hill: Homecoming developer, The Collective — was then canned.

Warner Bros. has stated they still intend to release a Dirty Harry game with another developer, so fans of a wrinkly-old Clint Eastwood should sleep well. But it certainly won’t look like these screens, found in the online portfolio of an artist for Warner Bros. at the time of the game’s development.

The artist’s resume also lists work on a PlayStation 2 title Midway was developing called The Executives, a title which (as far as I know) was never announced. The game, also in development by The Collective, looks to have featured gangsters with huge guns, chicks with laser axes, low pants, and rock-hard nipples.

But back to Dirty Harry. While it’s a character that has inspired many a tough-guy-with-a-gun, I’m not so sure it deserves its own game. Especially when the market is already flooded with relatively solid third-person shooter titles. Would any of you guys be interested in a Dirty Harry game?
