Old man publisher Sega has teamed up with young man clothing brand Lavair for a new collection based on the former’s classic 16-bit console: Sega Mega Drive. The limited-edition Sega x Lavair Mega Drive Collection includes sneakers and baseball caps inspired by one of the most legendary and beloved black boxes in video gaming history.
The Sega x Lavair sneakers will be made available in two formats. The EXO Sega Mega Drive Analog sneakers feature a black, purple, and pink hue, and a retro-tastic criss-cross pattern as featured on the Sega Mega Drive game cases. The Sega Mega Drive logo is depicted on the heel, while a “16-bit” stamp is emboldened on the tongue. The shoe features Lavair’s trademark EXO hi-tensile nylon upper, ultra-light sole, and weather-resistant toe cap. The EXO Sega Mega Drive Mono variant replaces the colorful hue with a more monochromatic black & white design. Both shoes will retail for $276 USD / £200 GBP.
Additionally, Sega and Lavair will release two stylish baseball caps, which will also be made available in matching Analog and Mono forms. The sleek black cap is embroidered with the classic Sega Mega Drive logo, with the inside peak featuring a pink & purple hue on the Analog edition and standard grey on the Mono edition. Both caps will retail for $70 USD / £50 GBP.
Both Sega x Lavair EXO Sega Mega Drive sneakers and the Sega x Lavair Sega Mega Drive caps will be available to pre-order from July 23, exclusively at the official Lavair store.
