Sega to appeal Aliens vs. Predator ban in Australia

Recommended Videos

Thanks to Australia’s evil Attorney General Michael Atkinson, Aliens Vs. Predator is currently banned in the country that gave us Prisoner: Cell Block H. Publisher Sega has chosen a potentially foolhardy route, as it plans to appeal the OFLC’s rating refusal in an attempt to get galactic genocide into the hands of Aussie gamers.

The review board will convene on December 18 to discuss the matter, and it will “only consider submissions about the computer game Aliens vs Predator itself and not any other matters relating to computer games policy or issues generally.” So, if you were hoping the review board would also talk about obscure PSOne shooter sequel Re-Loaded, you’re fresh out of luck.

With Atkinson facing corruption charges and public opinion apparently swaying in favor of an 18+ age rating, it would appear that Australia’s days of backward entertainment policies are almost at an end. Can’t wait until the country’s stupid rating system is finally reformed.
