Shoot Many Robots hits PC April 6 w/ pre-order bonuses

Following its release a couple of weeks ago on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Demiurge’s 2D, run-and-gun platform game Shoot Many Robots has been given a release date on Steam. You’ll be able to kick mighty robot ass on your PC starting April 6 and, to sweeten the deal, Ubisoft has announced a litany of Valve-themed pre-order bonuses.

If you buy between now and the launch of the game, you’ll receive a set of gear which will allow P. Walter Tugnuts to play the role of “the One Free Man,” Gordon Freeman, and some robots will be replaced by turrets from Portal 2. You’ll also receive a backpack item for use in Team Fortress 2 which can be equipped by the Pyro and Medic classes. The game will cost a mere ten smackers and, as an added incentive to get your friends to play, they’re also running a “Buy 3, get 1 Free” promotion on the title.

I loved — and continue to love — Shoot Many Robots and I’ll probably pick it up again for PC. Demiurge has designed the control scheme of this version specifically for PC players, which may wind up being more enjoyable for folks who found the “hold button to aim” controls in the console releases to be frustrating/antiquated. I never found it to be a problem but, hell, I’m old school like that, I guess.
