Feast of Deception is a quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that essentially wraps up the first act of the game. However, you’ll be presented with a “point of no return” message before finishing it. This is what you should consider before selecting yes on that dialogue.
The message is pretty ominous in saying that you need to wrap up what you’re doing before proceeding, and I’m here to tell you that it should be taken seriously.
Do sidequests become inaccessible after completing Feast of Deception?
Yes, some sidequests will be discontinued after you proceed past the “point of no return” and start the Feast of Deception quest. Initially, after accepting to proceed, nothing will happen. However, after the first time you sleep, it will cancel at least some of the sidequests that are available. They get “discontinued.” The ones we have confirmed are The Ornate Box, Readvent of Calamity, and The Arisen’s Shadow. Others, like the housesitting quest for Mildred, seem to stay active.
While this would take quite a bit of experimenting to fully figure out what does and what doesn’t get canceled, quality-of-life quests like the aforementioned one to obtain Mildred’s house still remain active. However, ones that seem somewhat pivotal, like Readvent of Calamity become discontinued, so nothing is off the table.
What you need to take from this is that if you’re trying to plumb Dragon’s Dogma 2 for all that it’s worth and want to drink deeply from its well of sidequests, it’s in your best interest to complete all that you can before deciding to finish Feast of Deception.
How to get the Feast of Deception quest
The Feast of Deception quest becomes available after you complete all of Captain Brant’s initial quests. This includes monster culling, The Nameless Village, The Caged Magistrate, and The Stolen Throne. Keep taking what he throws at you, and eventually, he’ll give you an ultimatum. This is the aforementioned point of no return.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Feast of Deception walkthrough
To finish the Feast of Deception quest, you need to talk to Brant, put on your formal attire, talk to Brant, watch a cutscene, and talk to Brant.
After the quest begins, you need to put on your Formal attire and talk to Brant again. He’ll ask if you’re ready. There will then be a cutscene where you approach the castle with your Pawn, they have a crisis, and Brant decides the best course of action is to retreat. Meet with him again, and he’ll ask you to wait.
You can go to the hotel or your house and wait a day, or you can do something else to pass the time. Afterwards, go talk to Brant yet again and he’ll tell you to go to Battahl. You’ll be given a gate pass for Checkpoint Rest Town, as well as a Portcrystal. This ends Feast of Deception and pushes you into the next phase of the game.
As a reminder, if you have any lingering quests, you need to do them before starting Feast of Deception.
