Ever since the original skate. revolutionized skateboarding videogames back in 2007, gamers have been looking forward to a bigger, better, and more badass sequel. Oh, wait … that’s Gears of War 2. Well, from the reviews quoted in the Skate 2 commercial above, the billing that Cliff Bleszinski gave Gears 2 is just as applicable to this game. Skate 2 boasts greatly improved online functionality, a PSN/XBL demo (I’ve downloaded it, but haven’t tried it out yet), and steaks for press — and it’ll be available tomorrow, January 21st, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Sadly, it appears that it’ll also be the last game by EA Black Box, which, reportedly, is being closed down. Be on the lookout for the Destructoid review so you can find out whether Skate 2 is, indeed, a glorious swan song for the studio.
