As you reach the end of the early game in Skull and Bones, it will come time to upgrade your ship and weapons. To do so, you will need plenty of resources and materials to craft both ships and weapons. One material you will need plenty of in Skull and Bones Cobalt Ingots. Here is the location where you can find Cobalt Ingots in Skull and Bones and how to refine them yourself.
Where to find Cobalt Ingots in Skull and Bones
The easiest place to find Cobalt Ingots in Skull and Bones is by visiting Wavuvi in the Ziwa Kubwa region on the Coast of Africa. Hopefully, you don’t mind getting your hands dirty as a pirate, as the best source of Cobalt Ingots is to plunder Merchant Ships transporting Cobalt Ingots directly out of the Wawuvi Foundry.
If you look at the map above, the area encircled in red and highlighted in white is the best place to find Cobalt Ingots. You can sail through the straits north of here to get into the Ziwa Kubwa lake in Africa which is where you will find Merchant Ships carrying Cobalt Ingots. If you have already been here, simply fast-travel to the Sunken Goldmine and head North a bit.
You will find plenty of Merchant Ships carrying the Confederation of Ungwana flag. Use your Spyglass to check the cargo of these Merchant Ships and you will see most of them are carrying some Cobalt Ingots. Do your pirate thing and sink or board these Merchant Ships to acquire their loot including the Cobalt Ingots.
Refine Cobalt Ore into Cobalt Ingots
I know you’re a pirate, but sometimes you don’t want to do pirate things. If you’re too weak to take on the Merchant Ships carrying Cobalt Ingots, or simply don’t want to, look along the coastlines in the same area for Cobalt Ore. Cobalt Ore deposits will look like the ones seen in the screenshot above. Here you can mine and harvest the Cobalt Ore.
Then you want to take the Cobalt Ore to the Refinery in Sainte-Anne. You can pay the Refiner a few Silver to smelt your Cobalt Ore directly into Cobalt Ingots.
Those are the two best places to find Cobalt Ingots in Skull and Bones. You have two options: plundering the ingots directly or refining them from Cobalt Ore.
