Developer League of Geeks has revealed its Grand Strategy game Solium Infernum will be released on February 14. In Solium Infernum, players attempt to ascend the Dark Throne of Hell via strategy, intrigue, and betrayal. Solium Infernum is a reimaging of the cult-classic strategy game from 2009. We also got a look at exactly just how we’ll be able to achieve that goal in a gameplay trailer.
A bit of betrayal
In Solium Inferum, players choose one of eight great Archfiends of Hell as they outwit and outmaneuver their opponents to claim the Infernal Throne. Political and Military strategy will both be required as players bluff, backstab, and sow betrayal to climb the ranks of Hell.
Our very own Eric “The Tactician” Van Allen got a hands-on look at Solium Infernum last month and feels the multiplayer is where the real grand strategy elements will shine.
Solium Infernum features 2-4 hour single-player matches as well as weeklong six-player multiplayer matches for those who only have a few minutes to play every day. The asynchrous multiplayer is popular among vast grand strategy titles like Solium Infernum, so I’m excited to see how well it works. A multiplayer playtest will kickoff early next year before release.
Solium Infernum launches on PC via Steam on February 14, 2024.
