Insomniac’s Spider-Man universe has been a huge hit with PlayStation and comic fans alike. The team has adapted the source material with aplomb and provided their own spin on various decades-old characters to boot. Here’s a quick breakdown of the after-credits scene in Spider-Man 2 for PS5, and what it could mean for the universe.
Obviously, spoilers are abound!
Just who is Cindy, and what happens in the Spider-Man 2 post-credit scenes?
Credit scene 1
After Peter Parker’s struggle with both Venom and his best friend Harry’s emotional homecoming, he decides to hang up the tights for a bit and let Miles take over as a full-time Spider-Man. Miles swings off as Peter and Mary Jane Watson hold hands and begin to repair their strained relationship.

It’s a sweet scene, and the credits immediately begin to play…before they are interrupted by a more sinister encounter between Norman Osborne and Otto Octavius (Doc Ock), who is currently being held in a maximum security cell. Norman asks Otto for the identity of the Spider-Men (Peter/Miles) to get revenge for his son Harry (who is currently in a coma). Otto rebuffs Norman’s request, noting that “we all have to experience loss, even you, Norman.” Norman then asks what Otto is writing in his cell, only getting the response “the final chapter,” before the credits kick back in. Given how often Norman (operating as the Green Goblin) and Otto work together, this is clearly setting up a potential reunion of the Sinister Six, with the addition of Norman. Ominous! But there’s one more scene.
Credit scene 3
In one final seemingly innocuous scene, Miles and his friend Hailey start to connect romantically, but are interrupted by Miles’ mother, Rio. Rio introduces them to Albert Moon, who subsequently introduces his daughter, Cindy. Yep, if this plays out similarly to the comic source material, this character is none other than Cindy Moon, aka Silk.
Introduced in 2014, Silk has become a popular member of the Web Warrior faction, gaining powers from the spider that provided Peter Parker with his gifts. She routinely battles the Inheritors: who are an organization of villains who feed off the life force of Spider-Verse heroes. While the sudden introduction of the Inheritors would be a lot to take on (especially with the aforementioned events playing out), we can assume Cindy will showcase her abilities as Silk in a theoretical sequel.
Bringing Silk into the Insomniac Spider-Verse at this exact moment in time is a genius move. If you haven’t heard of/seen Silk yet, you’re about to! She’s going to be a part of several Sony-Verse projects, from films and TV series; and she has her own comic line, while making appearances in various Marvel board/card games.
While this last scene isn’t the most exciting note to end on, it does have greater implications for the Spider-Man universe. Plus, more allies for Peter/Miles can’t hurt!
