Two burglars in Wiltshire had a golden opportunity recently, when they found themselves in a room with an Xbox 360 and a wad of games just lying on the floor. Those two burglars didn’t touch the console or a single piece of software, however, and instead made off with a tarantula called Fangs.
The victims of the crime seem quite perplexed, unsure why the 360 was just left there while the tarantula was taken. To be fair, the spider is worth about £400 to the right buyer, but it’s certainly not like a robber to leave good electronics behind.
“It is very strange because there was an Xbox 360 and hundreds of games on the floor at the time, but they left that and went straight for the spider.” said the mother of Liam Douglas, Fangs’ prior owner. Liam is understandably very upset. It’s a shame that Deadly Creatures isn’t coming to the 360, since that would have least been a compromise.
A strange story, but in the battle of tarantulas versus Xboxes, I can see why the burglars made their choice. After all, a tarantula has a better chance of staying alive for more than a month.
