Spike Video Game Awards ratings drop even farther

Recommended Videos

This is the fourth year in a row the Spike Video Game Awards have seen their ratings drop. Variety reports that this year’s numbers were even lower than last year’s, with about 627,000 viewers watching compared to last year’s 647,000.

To be fair, some of the demographics were up. Fifteen percent more men from ages 18-34 watched this year. Here I was thinking that this was the only demographic to watch. Actually, adults 18-49 were up 12 percent. God, who are these people? Neil Patrick Harris fans?

I…I don’t like the show. It has to do with the network it’s on more than anything else. The presentation is embarrassing. I also dislike that the type of games I enjoy are never even mentioned or nominated. Oh, and no Super Mario Galaxy 2? What the hell are they doing over there? Next year they should just call it the Spike Dude Game Awards.
