Square Enix won’t approve of your FFXV nude mods, but they won’t stop you

When Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata revealed that there will be some form of mod support on PC, he mentioned that they want to do so “with as few limitations from our side as possible.” Translation: they won’t stop you from making or installing nude or sex mods.

When asked about such mods by PCGamesN, he told them “Obviously there’s some worry about ‘we’ve made this great world and people might try to stuff all kind of strange things into it and mess it up,’ when we were getting together for discussion, all the people together in the project were airing out their worries, [nude mods] were something most people were really worried about.”

Even though Tabata and his team don’t approve of such mods and worried about it, he said the stronger feeling in his head is to not dictate what players do with their purchased product: “it’s a thing they’ve bought, it’s their game now. I don’t think it’s a good thing, but we’re going to leave it to the moral sense of all the players out there. I basically want, as a principle, to give as much freedom and as little limitations on it as possible.”

So there you have it, undress to your heart’s delight. Anyway, this is a great philosophy that more developers, publishers, and people in general should take up. If you buy a product it should be yours to use however you like. Certain companies don’t even let you buy a game so much as some “buy a license to play it” bullshit.

I would extend this to cheat codes even; OK it’s not how you intended people to play your game but what if I want to turn on big head mode or play with infinite health? Maybe I don’t enjoy your game that much but would with such cheats, and maybe I don’t want to slave away to unlock all characters and levels when friends come over.

And to you phone companies, let me root the thing so I can remove your fucking bloat and other stupid shit like volume warnings.
