A lover scorned
They say it’s “falling” in love because you eventually hit the ground. If a recent bump has you feeling vindictive, Yacht Club Games might have the catharsis for you. They’re hosting a Valentine’s Day event through the Steam version of Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon that will give you the opportunity to squash your ex like the horrible insect they are.
The idea is simple. Send in the name of the object of your derision via a Google Survey I’ll link below before February 13th. All of the names will be collected and dropped into and upcoming preview update. Then, on Valentine’s Day, the Beetos that spawn will be renamed with monikers from the list of ex-lovers. That’ll teach them to play games with your heart.
Here are the details:
- Send us your ex’s first name via this Google Survey by 2/13!
- We’ll input all of the submitted names into our upcoming Puzzler’s Pack DLC Early Preview update on Steam.
- On Valentine’s Day (02/14/23), the squashing spree will begin!
- This Steam-only event is all for fun, so we’ll remove all the names after the event. The event will officially end on 2/15/23!
The event is free, so long as you own Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon on Steam, so it’s the perfect time to get back at Chad for sleeping with your cousin at your grandfather’s funeral. Or whatever it is he did.
I don’t really have the need to squash any of my exes. They tend to range from, “well, that was unfortunate,” to, “I would rather just never see them again.” However, my dating life was rather uneventful, so maybe you’ve got someone who deserves to be flattened.
Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon is available on PC, Mac, PS4, and Switch, but the Squash your Ex event is exclusive to the Steam version.
