Depending on what choices you make during the mission, you’ll either be rewarded with the Kepler R or Kepler S spaceship. They’re both great ships, but there is one that has slightly better specs. Read to learn the differences between the Kepler R and Kepler S spaceships in Starfield.

The Kepler R and Kepler S compared

Although both spaceships are amazing, the Kepler R is arguably the superior option. It is a Class C ship featuring some impressive specs. You can hold a crew of 6 in it, and it features both Laser and Ballistic weapons. It also has a 30LY grav jump range, allowing you to travel to some of the more distant solar systems.

These are all stats impressive enough to take you into the late-game hours. If you want to acquire this spacecraft, you’ll have to argue for a spaceship with a large budget during the design process.

The Kepler S is a smaller, Class B ship. It has some similarities with the Kepler R, such as its 30LY grav jump range, but it can only carry a crew of 3 and it has a slightly smaller cargo hold. The Kepler S also completely lacks weapons, so don’t bring it into any battles.

The Kepler S is a great ship to have if you plan on traveling peacefully. To acquire it, argue for a smaller budget during the design process.

There are a few other ways to grab free ships in Starfield. You can complete the Mantis mission to score the Razorleaf, and you can complete the Freestar Rangers faction missions to acquire the Star Eagle.
