Not long ago, we spoke about rumors of a new handheld gaming PC from Lenovo that could potentially best Valve’s Steam Deck. Well, it turns out the Legion GO is actually happening, and it’s coming out at the end of October.
In a recent report from GamesRadar+, The upcoming Lenovo machine will be launching this Halloween (literally October 31) and judging from the hardware, it could topple the Steam Deck. However, as always with these more premium gaming devices, there’s the price to consider.
According to the report, the Legion GO will set you back $799. But hopefully, that extra dosh will be going towards something that can rival the best mobile gaming PCs around.
What’s under the hood?
While it will sport 16GB of RAM, similar to the Steam Deck, the overall hardware of the Legion GO looks a little more impressive. For example, the former boasts an AMD RDNA 2 graphics chip, but the latter will utilize the more up-to-date RDNA 3. The GO also comes with 512GB of storage and an SD slot that can hold up to 2TB. Again, similar to the Deck, but that’s only if you pay for the more expensive version of Valve’s device.
Lenovo’s machine will run on Windows 11 as opposed to it being a Linux-based system. It’s up to you to decide whether a mobile PC using Windows is a good thing or not, but at least you can be more confident that games will be compatible out of the box.
