Children are our future
Okay, I have to say, Catacomb Kids is such a great title. This is a roguelike platformer for those of us still eager to eat these games up, one in which children venture into the fortress of an ancient sorceress who was locked away some 500 years prior. Sheās essentially legend at this point, but all manner of creatures have made these catacombs their home.
āThe goal is to make a game that is streamlined but not āsimpleā; a system where basic elements interact to create complex outcomes and stories,ā writes developer FourbitFriday, who has worked as a pixel artist and animator on games like Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion and Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Donāt Know. Up until now, this has been a spare-time project.
Catacomb Kidsā core is there, but eight months (and $20,000) of full-time development will help ātransform it from a neat little distraction into a proper and finished game.ā The Kickstarter will also contribute to a full soundtrack and audio design by Stevie Hryciw. Thereās not a whole lot to this pitch, Iāll admit, but I do like whatās here and that seems like a reasonable budget.
