Still waiting for a new 2D Metroid? Take a look at Beyond Human

Metroid x Mega Man x Devil May Cry

Every few months, I think about how great Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion were. So, so great. Why isn’t Nintendo doing more like that? I don’t know, but the indie community seems to share my lamentation, creating games like Ghost Song: A Journey of Hope, Paradise Lost: First Contact, and Axiom Verge. If things turn out well, we can add Beyond Human to that list.

Beyond Human has a few influences it calls back to: Metroid, Mega Man, and Devil May Cry. Each manifests in a different way in the trailer, but all three are definitely present. As a neat backer reward, the protagonist here can don a few custom outfits (seen below) that pay homage to those classics.

Developer DT Studios has recently put Beyond Human up on Kickstarter, with a base goal of €20,000. It is planned for release on Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.
