Sundays with Sagat: Guest Starring Birdie

Recommended Videos

Here’s the first episode of Season 2 of Sundays with Sagat. If you’re new to the series, here’s a quick recap; this is a video series where a man named Sagat talks to you about videogames. This is serious business. Sadly, Sagat is a busy guy. We can only get together every five weeks or so, so when we do, we always shoot enough material to cover at least five different topics (one for each week). On top of that, our time in the local studio is pretty expensive, so we do these as fast as we can, and only do one take for the whole thing.

At least, that’s how we used to do things.

This week, Sagat was nowhere to be found, so I had to call in another Street Fighter 1 alumnus to fill in for him. Before you cry “PLAGIARISM!” on the fact that Birdie is English (or Welsh, or Australian, or something), remember that Hollie Bennett and Jim Sterling aren’t the only servants of the Queen who like to talk about videogames. We found a third one, and he’s got really awesome hair.

In this episode, Birdie tells us about his three favorite videogames ever, and one that he doesn’t like at all. In following weeks, we’ll get to hear a little more about what Birdie thinks of gaming and gamers in general, but for now, let’s just sit back and get to know this strange gentleman.

Also, a couple of side notes — until we find Sagat (assuming we can find him), the name “Sundays with Sagat” doesn’t really make any sense. As a result, we may be switching to a new name, and a new day of the week, at least temporarily. Breakfast with Birdie is one potential option, which would have these videos posted in the morning, probably on Mondays. The other bit of housekeeping is, if you already watched this video on YouTube, you may want to watch it again. We made some additions and corrections this morning, so I guess you could consider this the “director’s cut.”

OK, that’s all. Hope you like this one!
