[Update: Fjords is on sale for just $1.31 until midnight tonight, so get it for cheap while you can.]

Today on Sup Holmes we welcome Kyle Reimergartin to the program. According to Kyle’s bio, he “…lives on the Olympic Peninsula, teaches 2nd grade and makes games, is married and spends a lot of time identifying objects for a 2-year-old human.”

Fjords, Kyle’s latest project, took the development community by surprise with it’s combination of unassuming visuals, impressive sound design, beautiful guide, and “you program the world” gameplay hook. In Fjords, you play as a pizza delivery person who seems to exist inside of an Commadore 64 game. It’s feels impossible to deliver all your pizzas in the world as you find it, but by accessing computers located in various places, you can utilize some simple text-based programming to alter the environment, give your character different abilities, and more. If you enjoy coding games in the same way you enjoy playing games, Fjords will speak to you in a way that few other things have.

Kyle’s made a boatload of other games, like Together Fight! Friendly Hat Spirit, the Shoot the Butts, Punch the Butts 3D, Punch Forever, Super Punch Everything, Milder’s Totally Bogus (Rabbit) Journey, Owww, and a lot more. Most of them are free over on Lasercatz, so check ’em out, then head back here to talk with me and Kyle at 1pm PST/4pm EST.
