[Destructoid’s Director of Communications Hamza Aziz asked Jonathan Holmes to make a show called ‘Sup, Holmes?’ so that Destructoid could later sell a t-shirt that says ‘Sup, Holmes?’ on it. This week on Sup Holmes? we had a lot of laughs and some pretty intense “real talk” with Rami Ismail of Vlambeer regarding the different sides of using someone else’s game concepts. On one hand, we have the story of how Vlambeer was offered to opportunity to borrow the Serious Sam I.P. and how they used that opportunity to make a completely insane turn based RPG. On the other hand, we have the tale of how Vlambeer’s title Radical Fishing was cloned for the iPhone market, and how that process completely demoralized the developers.
All this and we didn’t even bring up how much I love Super Create Box! Just shows how invested we were in the topic. Of course, we did eventually talk about Super Crate Box, as well as Vlambeer’s new title Ridiculous Fishing, and a lot more, but you’ll have to watch the full episode for that.
Tune in this Sunday when we’ll have Miguel Sternberg of SpookySquid games on to talk about They Bleed Pixels, Comics Vs. Games, and a whole lot more.
