[Destructoid’s Director of Communications Hamza Aziz asked Jonathan Holmes to make a show called ‘Sup, Holmes?’ so that Destructoid could later sell a t-shirt that says ‘Sup, Holmes?’ on it. This is that show. Subscribe to the podcast feed and find more episodes here.]
Hey everybody! Sup Holmes is on iTunes now! If you like getting to know the world of videogame development from the inside out, I suggest you give it a listen. If you like it, please give it a decent review! It would be cool if I get to keep doing this show, because it’s fun.
Speaking of fun, we’ve got Damian Sommer (Eye Pilot, The Yahwg, and my favorite, the freeware title Friendship in 4 Colors) on the show today. He’s working on an inventive new 2D platformer called The Clown Who Wanted Everything. The game allows you to snag a multitude of power-ups, but the unlike in most games, you have to use every acquired power-up at the same time. So, theoretically, if you get a Zelda-style hookshot and double jump, you’d have to hookshot with every jump, making precision platforming pretty tricky. It’s a new idea in a world where new ideas are definitely at a premium. We’ll be talking about that, and anything else we feel like.
