Super Meat Boy sells 1 million copies, is still hard

I picked up Super Meat Boy during the Steam Winter Sale way back in 2011. I’d seen and heard quite a bit about the little flab of meat and knew that it was going to be a more challenging platformer. What I didn’t know was that it was the kind of “challenging” that caused broken monitors and keyboards. Still, it’s a very fun game to play when I’m able to jump over those BLOODY SAWS! Sorry, sorry.

Team Meat have some great news about their unfairly hard platformer (I either let my emotions out here or my laptop will be without a keyboard) as the official Twitter account for Team Meat let its followers know that the game had “past the million sales mark last month.” An incredible accomplishment for an indie game made by two people. When asked for comment, Edmund McMillen further told Destructoid that the number is actually now closer to 1.1 million and that about 20% of the sales came from the Xbox LIVE Arcade version, with the rest on PC.

So congratulations to both Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes on their accomplishment! Now, I’m off to love and hate Super Meat Boy some more.
