After a roughly two-week technical test, the rogue-like action RPG sequel Hades 2 has entered its Early Access period and is available now on Steam. While the technical test only encompassed a small portion of the sequel, the Early Access release features a massive amount of content including more levels, environments, enemies, weapons, and fully-voiced characters than the original Hades.
A meaty Early Access launch
While many games tend to be released into Early Access in a rather bare-bones state, that’s far from the case with Hades 2. Developer Supergiant Games opted to follow in the footsteps of the original Hades and go with an Early Access release because it worked so well with the first game. The plan is to use player feedback to continue fleshing out the game and integrating it into production plans throughout the Early Access period.
Even though it’s in Early Access, Hades 2 is also Steam Deck verified. I know a lot of people enjoyed playing the original on their Switch, so this is a nice alternative in the meantime if you really want to play the ARPG on a handheld.
Hades 2 is available now in Early Access on both Steam and the Epic Games Store at the price point of $29.99.
