Make some space
Nintendo has updated the official page for the newly revealed sequel, and the Bayonetta 3 file size clocks in at 15GB.
It’s not quite as compact as a first-party game (Nintendo continues to work its magic, as Mario Strikers Switch is a staggeringly low 3GB!); rather, it’s a fairly standard “AAA” size without breaking the bank too much (like say, an open world RPG such asĀ Witcher 3 does with roughly 31GB of space baseline).
For reference, here is how the Bayonetta 3 file size stacks up against the other games on Switch:
- Bayonetta 1 – 8.6GB
- Bayonetta 2 – 12.4GB
- Bayonetta 3 – 15GB
On Switch, physical copies tend to matter more than other platforms. Not only are you cutting out the need for space (as Switch carts don’t need to obnoxiously install anyway on your device), but typically, Nintendo games keep their value over time, especially if it’s something that’s technically first-party (developed or published) like Bayonetta 3.
Thankfully Nintendo tends to keep its file size data updated on the official listings for all its games, so people can plan ahead if needed, and people can do all the storage Tetris they can to prepare. For people with a lot of games, it can get overwhelming sometimes!
