Hot off the game’s announcement at Gamescom, NCsoft brought a huge showing of WildStar to PAX. Tara Long was there to get her hands on the game and tell us her impressions. She tells us about the character/class she chose, the 140 character limit on quest descriptions, not having to backtrack to quest-givers, being able to double jump and a bunch of other things you’ll want to check out.
The two aspects of WildStar that really interested me were the sort of dynamic quests and the art direction. I really love the idea of getting a hunting quest and if I’m amazing at it I have an opportunity to get a bonus via the video communicator your character has. And I love the direction Carbine Studios is taking with the art; colors pop out and everything looks nice and detailed. The cutscenes especially caught my eye. Hard to imagine any MMO will pull me away from Star Wars: The Old Republic, but I’m still looking forward to seeing what else WildStar has to offer as time goes on.
