Tauyosipun Shrine is one of the longer puzzle shrines to feature in Tears of the Kingdom. As such, there are more opportunities to get stuck in this sometimes confusing yet enjoyable location. We’ve covered everything you need to know to complete Tauyosipun Shrine below. But first, let’s take a look at how to find it.

How to find Tauyosipun Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

Tauyosipun Shrine is located in the frigid Hebra Mountains region of Hyrule. This is one of the chilliest areas of the game, so you’ll want to make sure you’re wearing suitably warm clothing like the Snowquill armor set. Once you’re ready to brave the cold, the closest fast travel point for most players is Rospro Pass Skyview Tower. Use the tower and glide northwest across Lake Kilsie and past Sturnida Basin. Depending on your stamina level, you may be able to get most of the way to the shrine in a single glide. Check out the screenshot above to see the exact location of the Shrine on the map.

How to complete Tauyosipun Shrine

When you enter the shrine, you’ll face the first obstacle of large boulders rolling down a slope, Indiana Jones style. If you try to head up to the next level, you’ll be crushed or knocked off the ledge by the falling boulders. They come so fast that there’s no way to get the timing right to avoid them. Instead, to get around them, wait for one to get close to the end of the ramp, roughly in the position pictured above. At this point, use the Recall ability on the boulder, and it will reverse back up the slope. It will move quickly, so be ready to follow it right away.

Immediately after getting past the first puzzle, you should notice a spinning wheel, pictured above. A chest is dropping down from the chute above, but the wheel is sending it down the chasm. Use Recall on the wheel, and it will spin towards the platform, sending the chest your way. Open the chest to receive a Strong Construct Bow.

Another puzzle, another ball, and another ramp. The second puzzle in the shrine is similar in concept to the first. You’ll need to use Recall to send the ball back up the ramp. However, this time you need to get the orange ball sat on Link’s side into the hole on the other end of the room. When you stand on the switch, the door at the end of the ramp will close. Do this first and wait for a ball to drop down to the end of the ramp.

Then, use Ultrahand to pick up the orange ball and place it in the ramp alongside the stopped ball. Next, use Recall on the ramp ball to have it reverse back up to the top. The act of the ball reversing will push the orange ball up the ramp until it falls off and lands in the hole, opening the door to the next room. See the screenshot above for how the reversal should look.

The third puzzle is a little less obvious than the first two. Here, you need to use Recall once again, but unlike the first two, the idea is to use it to slow the ball down. Not to reverse it back up. When the ball lands on the bottom ramp, use Recall on it so it reverses back up to the first ramp. When the ball is barely on the original ramp, cancel Recall so that it continues its original journey. If done correctly, the ball should have lost all momentum, and it will simply fall down to the hole below, which opens the next door.

The final puzzle in the shrine is another where it isn’t immediately obvious what to do. You have an orange ball and a moving platform that traverses the room, passing over the hole switch on the opposite side. To begin, use Ultrahand to place the ball in the bowl. Then, wait for the bowl to be momentarily above the hole and use Recall on the ball.

The ball will hop out of the bowl, following the direction you placed it in there. The second the ball jumps out of the bowl, you need to cancel Recall so that it drops down to the hole. It should look like the picture above. If you get the timing wrong, just let the ball fall down the chasm so that it respawns and try again. Once you get the ball in the hole, the final door will open.
