You’ll still die. A lot.
Teleglitch didn’t grab me in the same way other roguelikes have… okay, I mean it didn’t grab me the way Spelunky grabbed me (and refused to let go). Part of it that has to go down to the fact I kept dying and dying really quickly without having much of a grasp as to what I was doing. Thankfully, the developers at Test3 Projects have wisely updated the game with a new Arena mode, which is going to be perfect to get some practice in.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a pretty hard game to get round and death will come quickly to all players, but it’s a great way to get to grips with some of the basics. Each Arena has you fighting off waves of enemies using one of a couple of set loadouts, some of which might not seem too useful but I’ve already had fun having mutants chase after me and then lobbing some dynamite at them.
If you haven’t tried Teleglitche’s manic charm, it’s $4.42/£3.06 on Steam right now — that’s 66 percent off its regular price.
